Before and After the Breast Augmentation Surgery We decide upon the prosthesis shape and size after showing it to you with the 3D visualization system. Things to consider before and after the breast augmentation surgery: 1. Breast Augmentation Surgery is one of the aesthetic surgeries that are conducted by plastic surgeons under general anesthesia and in clinical conditions. 2. Don’t forget to share if anybody in your family had cancer treatment with your surgeon. 3. Before the surgery, mamography and ultrason results might be asked from you. When your doctor ask you for these, we advise that you don’t leave it to the last day before the examination. a. Depending on these results, you might be asked to show these results to a general surgery doctor. b. Depending on the results, the operation date might be changed. c. Our advise is ,if you have decided for a breast surgery, that you should get these tests done before the examination with your plastic surgeon. This way you can show your results to your plastic surgeon in the examination and get the assessment done. 4. If you are using any medication consistently or if there is any medication that you used in the last month definitely share it with your doctor. You might note down the names of the medication if their names can’t be remembered easily. 5. If you have been under local or general anesthesia before, share it with your aesthetics doctor. 6. The augmentation size that your plastic surgeon refers to, isn’t the same with the bra size. You will be informed in detail during your examination. 7. You will receive a form named Patient Consent Form where all the information your surgeon talks about will be written down. You will have to sign this form. 8. The surgery takes 1-1,5 hours. 9. The control of the anesthesia doctor and blood results will be conducted in the hospital where your operation will take place, before the operation. Your operation time will be designated accordingly. 10. You won’t have any problems breast feeding after the surgery since the breast feeding canals aren’t touched during the operation. If you have recently given birth, it is more convenient to undergo this operation after the breast feeding period which is 9 months. 12. After the breast augmentation surgery you will have a medical bra on when you return to your patient room. The time of usage will be told in your examinations. 13. Wherever your prosthesis will be implanted to your breasts, there will be a incision scar where the prosthesis was implanted. There will be flaster bands on the incision area. Do not remove them yourself at home. Your doctor will remove them in the control examinations. The incision scar will be hardly visible after 12 months. The stitches where the incision was made are able to melt by themselves. 14. You might have drainages when you arrive to your patient room. Your aesthetic surgeon will give detailed information about it during your examination. 15. You will have to rest 3-4 days. There are people who returned to their jobs after the 4th day. 16. The numbness between the 6th and 12th months are normal. This heals with time. 17. You might experience some pain after the breast augmentation surgery. You will be prescribed when you are leaving the hospital. 18. In the first few weeks, it is normal to have breasts bigger than normal. 19. You have to protect yourself against impacts after the breast augmentation surgery. 20. You will be informed about the lying positions during your examination and controls. 21. In the first months of the healing period, you might experience capsule formation around the implant in your breasts. The capsule formation is neither the patients nor the doctors fault. These capsules can be seen from the outside. Thanks to the gel silicones, capsule problems are fairly reduced. 22. You might experience bruising, swelling and numbness. This is normal. 23. You might have a bath after 3-4 days. Your aesthetic surgeon will inform you about this when you are ready to leave. 24. You can conduct sport activities after 6-8 months.
